Strong competition from 2,000 participants from 140 universities across the China region proved no match for the team from HIEU's School of Management, which clinched an impressive second place in the prestigious Global Management Challenge (GMC).
The HIEU team proved their mettle with their outstanding performance that displayed their professionalism, talent and business acumen, while attesting to the academic quality of HIEU’s business management program and business simulation system developed by the school.
The award is the highest accolade any institution in Hunan has received thus far and is set to open many doors for the participants of the winning team as the GMC is highly respected and acknowledged by international and local corporations alike.
The Global Management Challenge is the largest Strategy and Management Competition globally and is based on business simulations. More than 500,000 university students and company managers have participated in this event throughout the world since its inception in 1980. The Global Management Challenge consists of a Management Simulation in which each team runs a Company, with the objective of getting the highest company share price on the simulated Stock exchange. In China, GMC has become the most widely recognized and acknowledged competition with strong influence in the field of management simulation.
The HIEU team underwent vigorous training since the launch of GMC 2012 last September and worked closely with their faculty to sharpen their business acumen and analytical skills.
The HIEU team proved their mettle in the final competition through quick and precise business decisions, management style, market and consumer understanding as well as their focus on customer excellence. The team also become aware of the impact of their decisions on their organization, within an environment designed to encourage and develop teamwork.
